Hey guys, welcome to my another blog, in this article I am gonna share with you my trip to chandigarh that I had gone last month from now. Chandigarh, capital of both haryana and Punjab, is a beautiful and neat and clean place. There's a lot of things to experience and enjoy in Chandigarh from sukhna lake to mall or rose garden.

Chandigarh is famous for its cleanliness, planted city, greenry and also their life standard, so if you are thinking of going Chandigarh, then it will definitely a good idea of you.

There's a lot of beautiful things to see and enjoy in Chandigarh. The lots of Foreigners come out to visit Chandigarh . There are lots of places of attraction that will make your mood fresh and energise. So I am gonna share with you my experience, that what I have see and enjoy, so that you all can also enjoy that wonderful sight.

First of all, I am gonna tell you about how we started our journey from Haryana to Chandigarh. We had started traveling from Haryana in a car that we booked. We started our journey at nearly 1 pm form haryana bahadurgarh to sonipat to panipat to karnal to krukhshetra to ambala to chandigarh. The total distance is 265 km . That was a nice and enjoying journey to chandigarh. We visited chandigarh at the night at near 10 pm.

After a long journey, we all were tired and wants to sleep, then we decided to find a good and cheap price hotel for staying at night. We found a nice hotel named "hotel icon". The hotel is very good in terms of service and food as well as the rooms are in well conditions. with all this, we enjoyed the night

In the morning, we had a nice breakfast and started our wonderful experience to explore the beautiful city of chandigarh. We were gone to all the amazing places situated in chandigarh. There are so many places to visit in chandigarh. From shopping to travelling and Offcorse enjoying delicious food, the whole experience is great and indescribable.

So here are all the beautiful and educational places in chandigarh.

Places of visit in Chandigarh

1. Sukhna lake

We started to explore the chandigarh city with the long and beautiful sukhna lake. The 3 to 4 km long,artificial lake is famous for it's pinic spot that attracts lots of tourists around the world. Created by streaming the dams of shivalik hills.

There is a long foot path in front of sukhna lake where people cycling in the morning. There is a black rock statue at the lake where "chandigarh the city of peace" is written on it. It is a good place where you can enjoy skiing, rowing and yachting.

There is no motor boats are allowed due to conserve The water of the lake. You can enjoy the boating with moving paddals. We took the ticket and take a big boat of four persons and explore the whole lake with moving paddals. Beautiful migrated white and colurful ducks were diving in The lake and doing their daily routine activities.

The Chandigarh, the city of peace has a beautiful sukhna lake that attracts lots of tourists including Indian and foreigners.
The boating timings are from morning 9:30 am to evening 6:00 pm. The boating fee is exactly Rs 50 for two and 100 Rs for four persons.

There was a wonderful photo exhibition held at sukhna lake, many many attractive pictures were there that making that spot more attractive.

After enjoying at sukhna lake, we decided to move on and visited at rock garden in Chandigarh, located at approx 3.5 km distance from sukhna lake. We sit in our car and visited at rock garden in 5 minutes.

2. Rock garden

As you can guess by its name, rock garden is fully made of rocks. Made by the former Chandigarh road inspector,nek chand. Placed between the Capitol complex and sukhna lake in sector 1.

At the front of rock garden, there was a parking space for vehicles for those who visits rock garden. And many people selling their products like hand made statues and scenery and etc.

We entered in rock garden after taking a ticket of Rs 30 for each person. Rock garden has narrow passage and something like galleries. We entered in a small narrow passage and suddenly, a big area of ground opened in front of our eyes.

We saw different types of sculptures monuments that were made of Also famous for its sculptures that are made of wastes like clay, broken glass bangels or industrial coal. Many types of monuments of men, women and animals.

It is symbol of novelty and imagination. Rock garden also hosts teej festival in every year.we also experience aquarium into which fishes was moving, Multiple beautiful waterfalls and also big gaint swings that we all had craze of in our childhood.

After taking some time and experiencing the whole rock garden, we decided to move on for looking some garden filled with roses . We drive in our car and move on for rose garden located at jan marg, sector 16. It's about 7 minute route from rock garden to rose garden.

3. Rose garden

Also known as zakkir Hussain rose garden built in 1967. Over 16000 planted roses of all kinds, it is the largest rose garden in asia that has spread over 30 acres of land with beautiful roses all around. Not only eyes capturing roses, but also has rare medicinal plants like camphor, harar and many more. With 30 acres of land, 50,000 rose bushes of different kind of species over 1600 .

You can enjoy the view at any time as it is given from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm at night. The fees for this rose garden is 50 rs per person. The best time to visit rose garden is February and march, and also the annual rose Festival held their in Chandigarh

Another garden we finished with, is garden of fragrance.

4. Garden of fragrance

As its name suggest, this garden is full of lovely plants that are full of fragrance. One great thing about this beautiful garden is, there is no entry fee. The clean and well organised garden made for a nice walk.

Also, great for going to picnic. Number of benches where one can sit and feel relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounding.the whole garden smells very good and flowers like champa, roses looks very pretty.

Pinjore garden was also a great experience, pinjore garden had a great history from past that makes it a most visited place.

5. Pinjore garden

Well, this pinjore garden spreads more than 100 acres with a beautiful scene with evergreen nature and water bodies. Also known as vadvinder garden that is famous in the whole world for its greenry, blowing winds everywhere and it's water bodies.

Situated in panchakula district,haryana, The mugal created wonderful garden that attracts most of the tourists from all over the world by its beauty and well maintained infrastructure.

Well, you can also able to see the mango festival between April to June, also famous for a picnic spot, it is not only known for its wonderful flora, but also has a mini zoo. Many people says that pandwa stayed in this garden for a while. The best time you visit here is in evening time as the sunset looks very stunning.

6. Elante mall

The second largest shopping mall in India in North. It is best place for shopping under a big roof. We parked our car in parking area under the building. And entered inside the mall by the lift. It has two main gates, one at back and one in front. The elante mall has three portions of basements. It has one ground floor and three upper portions.

You will amazed to hear that the mall has 8 screen PVR multiplex cinema. And on top floor there is a food point and fun point where children can enjoy with toys and many things. You can find every type of shop here from branded clothes to high quality of food as it is a best place for shopping in Chandigarh.

Every things were very expensive and going out is our budget,so we decided to go somewhere else for shopping. There is another famous shopping site in Chandigarh that we went, sector 17 market that is well famous for its branded stores of all types.

7. Sector 17 Market

This sector 17 market very famous for its shopping spot. Every tourist that from India or outside must visit here due to it's big branded stores. Here you can find all types of stores from kids to adults. This shopping site is very famous in Chandigarh. The bunch of visitors come here everytime, this is the most crowdy market in Chandigarh.

This is the best place to shop whatever you want. If you want branded things , there are lots of branded showrooms from all Indian brands to foreign brands. You can also find many shops where you can buy products in a cheap rate.

Sector 17 Chandigarh

We had a great time in sector 17 market, bought some clothes and shoes and also enjoy the delicious food in restaurant. Many people in holidays comes out here for shopping and taste delicious food. Families spend their precious time doing some shopping, eating food as it has variety of good restaurants that grab the attraction of the visitors.

Some of the best restaurants are Sindhi sweets, ghazal restaurant, black lotus, dera restaurant and ram rathnam.

And with exploring chandigarh all day, our journey comes to an end, in evening, we moved on for punjab, amritsar. Punjab journey was also very hilarious and fun, I will discuss it in other article with full details.

1. Garg chaat

Located at sco 34 , sector 23 in Chandigarh. Garg chaat restaurant is famous for its best golgappa, tikki, bhalpapdi and soya soup and many more. So if you are fond of all these things and want to taste these, just visit this sweet corner.

One of the best restaurants in Chandigarh,part of taj Chandigarh, medium size restaurant with good arrangement and nice staff in service. The restaurant is famous for its Chinese dishes. If you are a lover of chowmien and Manchurian, you must visit this restaurant.

When we speak about finding hotels anywhere, we want to go for cheap and good quality experience that couldn't spoil our journey or trip. So finding budget hotels can be a little bit difficult task in the beginning who are in Chandigarh. When I visited Chandigarh, we experienced the same in finding hotels rooms in a cheap price.
