If you enter the forest you can see the Royal pond. Nowadays it seems to be muddy. Some believe that ancient royal family used that pond to bathe and also there is a tunnel which is connected to Dalada Maligawa.
Once you walk straight you can see the forest. And the road is slightly slope. You can see fallen leaves on the path.
On both sides you can see the trees which are older and larger. They will give you shade too. So you won't feel hot when you go through it.
Once we visit the forest in the morning about 9 am we won't see any animals except deers. Some told that they went to higher parts, if you come in the evening you can see them.
If you visit in the morning you can see the sun light which blinks between the tree leaves.
The paths are very clean however you should be careful because some reptiles are there. Wearing shoe will protect you from these kinds of reptiles.
You can find one side of the path is fully depth while the other side is fully steap. So you should take care of your children.
They won't allow any plastic items over there. So it looks very neat. We have seen only one plastic bottle over there which was thrown long ago.

You can turn right and go along the path. Once you walk a few kilometres you can find a junction with 3 roads.
Again turn into your right and go further. But you should be careful because we have warned that there can be snakes over there as it has bushes both sudes.
Once you go few steps you can see the city view over there. From that point you will be able to see the whole Kandy. You can see the beauty of Kandy lake as well as Dalada Maligawa which is situated near to the lake. It's the most important place in the forest that you should visit.
Then go along the path you can find the tourist information centre. It provides the historical and important information about the forest. You will be assisted by the officials if you need any help.
Then turn to your left and go straight till you find the previous 3 road junction. On that way you can see a tree which is more than 200 years old as well as it spreads nearly 2 hectares.
From there you can walk on the previous lane which you used earlier. And you will find an Exit board on a tree. If you go along that path you can get back to the starting point. Enjoy your Trek.
